Statement
Rachel Kaufmann's work focuses on aspects of her own experiences. She focuses on scenes that show the way that different people interact in a place and time. These pieces could be the story of a band filling up the streets of Great Barrington with music on a summer evening or the reflection from the Fuel Coffee Shop on a morning in April. She enjoys exploring what can visually depict an emotional truth: the intensity that can show through depicting herself in all reds, or how it feels to watch the sky light up into a sunset. Motifs throughout her work includes reflections, the sky, and scale techniques to reflect feelings.
